The decision to get the education you need to become a pharmacist through the University of Toronto is an excellent choice. This is an educational institution that is well recognised in many parts of the world. You will be getting your training through the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy.

At first, you may have been looking for the Bachelor of Science Program but here, at the University of Toronto, it has been replaced with a program known as PharmD. Upon successful completion of this program, you will be qualified as a pharmacist. Not everyone gets accepted into this program, so you will have to be able to meet the criteria that is set for it. This means that you will need to be sure that you have completed all the pre-requisite courses. You also have to show that your average is 70% or more on an accumulative basis. This means it must be equivalent to a B+ for the University of Toronto.

Then you will have to pass an admission test at the University, and go through an interview. Make sure that you gather all of the pertinent documents you will need like your PCAT results along with your grade finals for the previous year, as well as some others that you can check at the university.

The PCAT is a special test that stands for Pharmacy College Admissions Test. This test is comprised of topics such as:

  • Quantitative Reasoning
  • Biological Processes
  • Chemical Processes
  • Clinical Reading

If you are not able to achieve not even the basic standards for this test then you will not be considered for an admission interview.

Getting into this University to take the pharmacy course is not easy but is achievable if you work hard to meet all of the criteria that is set. Once you have done this and have been accepted, you will not regret your decision.
